Antlion

Particularly terrifying for isolated footsoldiers are the antlions among the Beta Strain numbers. Indiscernable from the debris in the environment, they strike without warning and often without the ability to defend against. Although not useful lethal in-of themselves, the antlion bite is painful and injects the victim with proteolytic enzymes, which will continue to digest human biomaterial until it is properly flushed out by a doctor or in a house. This particularly troublesome fact effectively limits the mobility of survivors passing through an area with known antlions, and lets this class serve a defensive purpose.
