Certain minerals mixed in certain quantities can be used to cure from certain poisons. Because of their interest in minerals as well as abundant supply, gnomes found mineral cures from many known poisons and some other healing treatments. These same cures can be poisonous, flammable or even both when used in different proportions. Those who specialize in making mineral cures use this discovery for self-defense by mixing unstable concoction in a small vial right in front of their target and directing vial's bottleneck at the target right before it bursts in flame and noxious smoke - hopefully in target's face rather than user's.
