<span></span>Most Thanats inhabit nearby dead bodies when they come into existence. Some of these corpses used to have arcane knowledge and power before they died. A fraction of this power can be recovered from the body and used to augment innate power of possessing Thanat. Available spells are limited to what was learned by Thanat during its formation and following existence. Unlike arcane power, knowledge is lost unless its carrier's mind is returned to life.

Note: this unit is ''unliving'' (has fixed trait named ''unliving'') - it cannot be poisoned, when it is recalled its hitpoints are set to 20 and it can heal from ''healing places'' only when also eligible for rest-healing or under effect of ''siccates'' ability of allied unit
