Affinity for heavy protective equipment and extensive training in its use makes veteran shieldbearers excellent for guard duty. They can hold their ground against all but the most visceral assault. It is dangerous to lose one's foothold to one of them as it can be reprised only with overwhelming force, especially if enough time was available to prepare defensive position.
