Dire

While merely the sight of the dire is a horror, the infernal creature is also well endowed with powers dark and dangerous. As will be noted, all of the dire's attacks deal low damage. However, coupled with the pit-spawn's ability to petrify, poison, and teleport, the creature's prowess becomes more readily apparent. The faceless being moves primarily upon the tentacles which sprout from its lower body in lieu of legs. The touch of these petrifies immediately. As well, they are covered with a multitude of small, poisonous, bone spikes which the dire can hurl forth with great force.

Special Notes (1.14-style, please update to the new list format to avoid duplicates):The victims of this unit’s poison will continually take damage until they can be cured in town or by a unit which cures.The ability to turn the living to stone makes this unit extremely dangerous.This unit can use one move to teleport between any two empty villages controlled by its side. This unit is non-corporeal and is immune to poison, drain, and plague. Most non-corporeal units are able to fly, even across terrain that is not normally accessible.
