Cockatrice

Cockatrices are rare and feared monstrosities. They look like an awkward fusion between a rooster and a snake. It is a great threat, not only because of its ability to fly and its sharp beak, but because of its special ability: the petrifying breath. The cockatrice spews a magical gas that turns most matter into solid stone. Luckily for its victims, its breath often fails to work, but it is still a very dangerous monster and should definitely be avoided if possible.
