Most events that can cause Thanats to be formed are about abrupt changes, often including rapid destruction and violent deaths. Thanats formed in such conditions often inhabit remains of whoever fell victim of these events, sometimes before their minds are fully formed. Proximity of corpses can lead Thanat to pick up deceased body before its mind is fully formed. It takes time to get used to newfound body so their first movements are ineviatbly clumsy and awkward. These circumstances breed numerous stories about people returning from the dead to revenge for their own deaths. Sometimes vengeance becomes a part of Thanat's goal so these stories contain a grain of truth.
