Bombard Mortar

(image)

As relations between dwarves and humans deteriorated, the humans took a closer look at the weapons of their possible adversary. While guns are clearly too slow and awkward for individual soldiers to use on the battlefield, heavy artilliary stationed at a port city can be used to prevent enemy ships from dropping anchor nearby.

It does take effort to move and aim the cannons, then there is a delay as the fuse is lit, so hitting small, quick targets is almost impossible. But once the cannon is fired, woe be to whatever receives the missile, be it wood, flesh, steel, or dirt.
