Hoplite

Before there was the roman Legion, and even before Aeneas had to leave his town to initiate the process that led to the creation of Rome, the oriental battlefields were dominated by these men. The fearsome hoplites of Sparta and Athens defeated Xerxes the Great, and the Macedonian Hoplites made it possible for Alexander to rule the enitre world (or nearly).

Special Notes: The length of this unit’s weapon allows it to strike first in melee, even in defense. The steadiness of this unit reduces damage from some attacks, but only while defending.
