Halfling chefs achieved supremacy in their field by completely dedicating themselves to their work. Their great proficiency at culinary arts and administering the right alchemical remedies of their own creation makes them in high demand -- even with would-be customers in foreign lands! So successful they've been at restoring those thought to be on their deathbeds to good health, it has led to speculations that they in fact have a pact with Death itself. Rumors like these are reinforced by the fact that they look far too youthful for their age.
