Cumber

(image)

Cumbers are large, mobile fungi generally found in swamps or deep underground. Not much is known about them. Are they mindless? Can they understand spoken languages? Nobody knows for sure. Cumbers generally ignore other creatures, but sometimes they seem determined to obstruct the movement of a particular creature, almost as if the cumber wants to be attacked, but who knows? If attacked, a cumber will blast a jet of poisonous spores at the source of their attack. Any creature killed by the spores of a cumber will transform into a mushroom-like creature called a shroomling. There are four varieties of cumber: Deadly, Hefty, Odious, and Firespore. The plural of cumber is cumber and cumbers; both are correct. Cumbers do not gain experience.
