Elephant Rider

Elephants are intelligent animals, and if they can be captured they can be trained to fight with excellent results. Their brute strength combined with their inherant resistance to most forms of attacks renders them an asset to any army. Elephant riders are adept handlers of the beasts they ride, and can effectively guide them on the battlefield. The elephant itself provides the melee attack with its powerful trunk, while the warrior on the carriage can fire arrows from his mount. However they cannot move quickly and are also ill suited for holding defensive positions.
