Athlons are the basic soldiers of the Arathropiae. They have an armor which is not easy to penetrate with normal weapons, but cannot block drastic temperatures, which unfortunately are the kind of attacks, hurting these kind of insect the most. With their quite strong bite they can cause serious injuries, but if you manage to block these attacks, an Athlon will maybe choose to use his hard armor to tackle you without getting hurt himself.
