The wonders of Gnomish engineering have resulted in this, a mechanical soldier which can take the place of living troops and thus prevent much loss of life. The heavy metal makes these mechanoids a bit sluggish, and heavy impacts tend to shake up their inner workings. However, since they have no flesh to burn and no real life, they are quite resistant to extreme temperatures and to magic. Their metal casing also makes them difficult to cut with a blade.
