Metal is incredibly rare in the plains, as few Aracaya know how to make it - the vast majority of metal is scavenged, traded or looted from communities of humans or dwarves around the plains. So only the most skilled hunters are allowed to wield rare skinning knives. These are passed down only after the orc has proven his skill in removing valuable hides from his prey with improvised stone blades.
