The rank and file of the Gnomish Militias, riflemen are versatile troops, equipped with a peculiar type of weapon unknown to other nations. In addition to somehow firing metal pellets at lethal velocity (and making a lot of noise!), a blade attached to the end of these 'rifles' allows them to be used as a makeshift spear, which is very helpful in deterring cavalry charges. Riflemen also wear light mesh armour, which offers a modicum of protection from blades and arrows.
Special Notes: The length of this unit's weapon allows it to strike first in melee, even in defense.
