For years beyond count, the massive, intelligent birds of the Northern Mountains have been allies of the Commonwealth's mages. In ages past, it was said that great evokers rode them in battle, but that art is now lost. Nevertheless, these awesome birds are scouts beyond compare, and almost impossible to bring down. However, their great mass makes them somewhat unmanuverable in closer quarters, preventing them from being effective warriors.
