Ivesar Seeker

Seekers are a specialized order of the Commonwealth's wizards, who specialize in the pursuit of knowledge. Their creed is Knowledge is Power, and indeed, their vast libary has served the Commonwealth well in peacetime. Yet during war, they have a large store of tactical data, making them well-respected leaders and generals. They are perhaps somewhat obsessed, and will go to great lengths to obtain information, that other wizards might shy at. The methods of a Seeker border on darkness, and the Order is careful to restrain its members. Nevertheless, one nasty spell with rather questionable origins is wielded by a Seeker: with a single word, Seekers can drain the lifeforce of their foes into themselves.
Oh, and they have a kick-ass swor-right, wrong series.
