The Commonwealth has an not quite undeserved reputation on relying almost solely upon magic-users and academics for its battles. Thus, many enemy generals have been caught unaware by the lightly armored skirmishers of the Commonwealth. Their javelins are not as sturdy as longspears in combat, but are weighted perfectly for throwing. Though Guardsmen are a strong force on their own, they are most effective when backed up by the more experienced Deathguard or Glaivemen.
