The Commonwealth has long understood that information is power, and that information is only useful if it gets to its intended recipient. After one too many accidents involving carrier pigeons going to the elves instead, the Commonwealth implemented a system of couriers. Lightly armed and fast, they also prove useful for gathering the information that they carry, leading them to their secondary role in combat. They alone of the Commonwealth soldiers feel comfortable fighting at night.
