<span></span>Being ethereal creatures, Thanats cannot use their bodies to interact with tangible objects. Instead they have to rely on their innate arcane powers to affect corporeal world. Bodies of corporeal beings are often used as intermediaries for more efficient use of arcane influence. Living beings tend to object when their bodies are used in this manner so dead bodies become an obvious choice. Arcane force used to animate a corpse is potent only in immediate vicinity from its user and rapidly declines as distance increases. Some Thanats manage to alleviate this decline by focusing their effort on very light object - like an arrow. Arrows made from bone are lighter than wooden ones - they do not preserve an impulse received from a bowstring but this loss is more than covered by Thanat's arcane power. Bows are also made from bone as this material is readily available wherever dead bodies are.

Note: this unit is ''unliving'' (has fixed trait named ''unliving'') - it cannot be poisoned, when it is recalled its hitpoints are set to 20 and it can heal from ''healing places'' only when also eligible for rest-healing or under effect of ''siccates'' ability of allied unit
