Scalejet

Heavenkites make a choice as they mature, following one of the two paths. Both are known by many names. Scalejets are usually female, the graceful path of beauty being more popular among them. Scalejets are not as quick as they once were, their movements less jumpy and more refined. Their thick, luxurious scales gleam with myriad hues, making for a spectacular sight as they arc through the air. While Scalejets can't or aren't willing to dodge attacks as well as their fiery brethren, their scales provide them with ample protection, further enhanced by their ability to go with the blows. The growing head-fins keep Scalejets from using their jaws in combat, aiming to avoid damage to that body part - instead, they use swipes of their strong, hard tails and some very rudimentary natural magic usually used to create further wondrous patterns on them, both tools capable of causing harm in combat.
