Mermaid

Mermaids are beautiful half-woman, half-fish creatures that inhabit certain regions of the ocean, usually living in shallow water. They used to be very numerous in the past, but they had some trouble with mankind a few decades ago, which caused their numbers to drop sharply, though there are some regions where they can be seen often. They are not physically strong, but their greatest power lies in magic: mermaids are able to magically manipulate the water around them, making them tricky foes to deal with, especially when in water, where they are much faster and their magic is much stronger than in land.
