Thanat Cadaver

(image)

Every Thanat choosing to inhabit a dead body over wandering as an ethereal spirit faces a question of what to do with deceased flesh. Most common approach is to let it rot and wither away leaving a lightweight but relatively fragile bone carcass. Alternatively ongoing effort and directed approach are required to contain disease and vermin. One suitable approach is to keep the corpse permanently chilled by channelling Thanat's innate arcane force. This approach requires constant ongoing effort so many Thanats eventually decide to let their vessel drench onto a skeleton making it much easier to maintain. While flesh is still kept chilled, excess cold can be directed outside as a means of offense. Also vermin are chilled along with dead flesh and absorb a small fraction of arcane force that produces the chill. They can be possessed and occasionally thawed to be used as homing weapons hastened by absorbed arcane power.
