Hellhound

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Uria’s followers have perfected techniques for the extraction and transplanting of souls. Very little about this practice is known to outsiders, but most evidence indicates it is a common disciplinary action against those who have failed or otherwise displeased their superiors. They are then given a last chance to clear their names and prove their worth, though their new bodies are usually seldom fit for the task; the most tortured of souls prove the easiest to strip from their broken bodies.

It is suspected that many of the Chaos Hounds who manage to survive their masters’ research have had their souls replaced with those of fallen demons. For the denizens of Inferno there could hardly be anything more humiliating than being forced to carry on their lives confined to the bodies of beasts that even their Irdyan allies despise; walking on all fours, sleeping next to their own excrement, and eventually succumbing to their low instincts. Having long since realized that regaining their honor is a lost cause, for these miserable creatures there are only two options left: to embrace death at the hands of their enemies, or turn against their masters and pray they do not decide to prolong the torment.

Special Notes: Whenever its berserk attack is used, this unit continues to push the attack until either it or its enemy lies dead.
