Extermination of the Clans and therefore decreasing of knight's number led to attempts to create non-knightly heavy cavalry for the Royal Army. Thus hussars and cuirassiers have appeared. Like dragoons, Hussars are able to perform the role of scout, but they are better protected, so they also can serve as heavy cavalry.
